Audio/Video
- You should try to keep audio and movie files small enough to load "reasonably quickly" on personal workstations over busy networks. Weigh the trade-off between the information or stimulation created by video and sound vs. slow download.
- Where necessary, indicate the file type or the file size of linked sounds and movies. This helps users decide whether they want to start a download.
- To help make your pages available to physically disabled persons, place an anchor to a page with a text transcript or description of the sound right next to the anchor for the sound. For more information on this topic see the presentation titled Does Your Site Talk? and the Web Accessibility - Making Your Page Accessible to Everyone (ADA) section of the Cal Poly World Wide Web Assistance page.
